To say that Otavalo is a culturally rich is an understatement. A place of indigenous tribes rich in tradition and belief little has changed in past 100 years. The women wear colorfully embroidered blouses, long black skirts and shawls, golden necklaces and bracelets of blown-glass beads. The men wear calf-length white trousers, rope sandals and reversible blue ponchos.
