The climate for China

China's is big, so its climate various by region. Winter is characterized by numbingly cold temperatures, while summer is hot and humid . Officially divided by the Yangtze River, ideal temperatures are obviously found in the north for summer and the south for winter.

China's climate is dominated by dry seasons and wet monsoons, which contribute to the distinct temperature differences in winter and summer. During the winter months, northern winds move in from highlands bring cold and dry air. In summer the southern winds from sea regions bring warmth and moisture from the lower latitudes.

Another factor that influences China's weather is its complex topography. In northeast China, summer is typically shorter but there still remains a lot of sunshine. Winter however is long and cold. In the northwest precipitation is light with cold winters and hot summers. In the south of the Nanling Mountains, rains are heavy with temperatures high all year round. In the Yangtze and Huaihe River valleys in the central part of China, there are four distinctive seasons.
