Eating out
Guatemala is well known for its high quality steak restaurants and has many international cuisines at any of the first class hotels.
Typical meals
Most plates come with rice, beans and corn, accompanied by avocados and any one of the many fruits of this country. Some other favorites are Quetzaltenango tamales, Kakik a spiced turkey soup, Jocon a chicken in green tomato sauce, guacamole, Subanik a beef, pork and chicken vapor-cooked in a highly spiced sauce.
Drinks
Rum and Quetzalteca are favorites among many and who can forget the glorious coffee.
